HPM West Coast Meeting: October 2010

HPM-Americas is pleased to announce a meeting on Saturday and Sunday, October 23-24, 2010, on the campus of CalTech in Pasadena, California. A special feature of this meeting will be a visit to the Huntington Library on Saturday afternoon.

HPM seeks a variety of talks on the history of mathematics, the teaching of mathematics, and the history of teaching mathematics. Talks directly relevant to mathematics classrooms are especially welcome. Talks will be 30-40 minutes long.

The registration fee will be $40 until September 15 and $45 thereafter. For one day attendees, the fee is $30 until September 15 and $35 thereafter. The fee includes lunches on both Saturday and Sunday. Registration checks should be made out to Amy Ackerberg-Hastings, Treasurer, HPM and mailed to:

The Americas Section of HPM spans an area that is immense both in its physical and cultural dimensions. Our members have a correspondingly wide scope of interests, ranging from scholarly pursuit of knowledge to practical classroom issues. We aim to foster communication and cooperation among our members by means of this website and, where possible, through face-to-face meetings at local, regional or international conferences.
